Dr Mumbi Njoroge
Mumbi Njoroge is a Mental Health Practitioner specializing in Integrated Mental Health Promotion, with over 29 years of experience. She has expertise in psychotherapy, trauma care, psychoeducation, and Applied Psychology, working across diverse sectors like agriculture, emergency response, business, education, and adoption. She is also skilled in curriculum development and training manual writing. A committed volunteer, she has held leadership roles, including former National Commissioner at St. John Ambulance Brigade and Chairperson of the Adoptions Committee at Kenya Children’s Home Adoption Society. She is actively involved in the Kenya Girl Guides Association. Mumbi holds undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in Psychology & Practical Theology, with certifications in Evidence-Based Behavior Practice, Psychological First Aid, and Emergency Response. She is the author of An Introduction to Integrated Mental Health Promotion and founder of The Anchoring Centre for Integrated Mental Health Promotion. She is married to David Njoroge, and they have one daughter, Sifa Cikũ.

Mutale Kabumbu
Mutale T. C. Kabumbu is a clinical psychologist and mental health expert, serving as Head of Psychological Services and Partner at Renaisense Center. She oversees staff mentorship, clinical supervision, and corporate wellness programs. With a Master’s in Clinical Psychology, Mutale has extensive experience supporting individuals and couples. She’s trained over 300 community health workers in basic mental health support and leads the Therapist Development Program, enhancing mental health care delivery. A researcher and speaker, Mutale has presented at conferences and co-authored a peer reviewed article She’s also involved in community engagement, serving on the board of Walk with Me Foundation and hosting a radio show focused on mental health psychoeducation Skilled in psychotherapy, corporate wellness, and mental health advocacy, Mutale is committed to advancing mental health care and empowering a more inclusive future.

TECHNOLOGY AND MENTAL HEALTH
Dr Andrew Mujurira
Andrew Mujugira, MBChB, MSc, MPH, PhD, is a Senior Research Scientist at Makerere University Infectious Diseases Institute and Affiliate Assistant Professor of Global Health at the University of Washington. With 21 years of experience conducting HIV prevention clinical trials in East and Southern Africa, his research has successfully supported evidence-based HIV policy change at both global and country levels. As Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on several NIH-funded HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) effectiveness trials, demonstration projects, and implementation studies directed toward underserved and vulnerable key populations in Uganda, he has evaluated the use of combination HIV prevention tools (HIV self-testing, sexually transmitted infection self-sampling, PrEP, and antiretroviral treatment) to reduce HIV incidence. Current projects include a randomized, double-blind trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of monthly oral HIV-1 pre-exposure prophylaxis in adolescent girls and young women in Kenya, South Africa, and Uganda.

Samson Banoba, DICT, GDIP, MC is a seasoned Professional Counsellor and Family Therapist with over 30 years of experience in pastoral care and professional counselling. He is the Founder of Legacy Family Counselling and Therapy Centre and a proud member of the Australian Counselling Association. Samson’s extensive work spans multicultural settings across Russia, East Africa, Australia, Zambia, and Scotland. He is passionate about integrating technology into therapeutic practice, creating innovative, tailor-made learning solutions in marriage and family therapy. His efforts have led to the development of impactful online platforms and diverse training curriculums that foster personal and professional transformation. Driven by a deep commitment to human potential, he empowers individuals and groups to grow by curating and facilitating dynamic programs across various domains. His intuitive and strategic approach helps clients unlock their strengths, catalyzing lasting, meaningful change. Currently, he offers training in Grief Counselling, Family Therapy, and Applied Counselling Skills, alongside providing supervision for counsellors across various disciplines.

Ms Kapili Choonga
Kapili Choonga is a compassionate and skilled psychotherapist at Renaisense, with two years of professional experience. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is deeply committed to supporting individuals of all ages as they navigate life’s challenges, foster resilience, and reclaim a sense of well-being. Guided by a client-centered and collaborative approach, Kapili tailors her therapeutic methods to the unique needs of each individual. She draws on a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Humanistic approaches, to create a safe and supportive environment for her clients. Her belief in the transformative power of the therapeutic relationship drives her dedication to helping clients uncover their strengths and achieve personal growth. Whether assisting clients in overcoming mental health struggles or guiding them through life transitions, Kapili is passionate about empowering others on their journey toward improved mental health.
